BASE, GANTRY AND BEAM STRUCTURE
•The GEMtronics Machine Base is fabricated from extremely
heavy RHS Sections and Steel Plate, which have been
electro-welded and further strengthened by the Stress
Relieving process prior to machining. The top section of the
machine base directly supports and integrates the waterproof,
and extremely high density polymer matrix table-top, making
the structure very rigid.
•The Gantry Supports also fabricated from extremely heavy
electro-welded and stress Relieved RHS Sections and Steel
Plate maintain the overall rigidity of both the Y & Z Axes
Carriages movement along the Dual Drive X-Axis Direction of
the machines base. The Gantry Beam is supported on high
precision lineal guides and blocks on both sides of the
machine base structure.
X AND Y AXES
•The Dual Drive X-Axis, and Single Drive Y-Axis movement is
supplied via balanced Japanese Yaskawa AC Servo Motors &
Drives with Zero Backlash Apex Gearboxes, utilising high
precision Helical Rack & Pinion Drive System, to provide
Staggering Traverse and Cutting Speeds of up to 60m/min
(1000mm/sec)
Z AXIS
•The Z axis movement is also driven by Japanese Yaskawa AC
Servo Motors & Drives through a precision ground ball screw
and preloaded nut to ensure high precision, and avoid any
backlash. Pneumatic cylinders are fitted to compensate for
weight of the overall working unit, consisting of Boring Head,
Electro-Spindle & Automatic Tool Changer, giving a perfect
balance during vertical (Z Axis) movement, providing a massive
200mm Work Piece Clearance with an overall 250mm Z-Axis
Stroke.
WORK TABLE AND VACUUM PUMP SYSTEM
•The table-top working area is made from an extremely high
density and very rigid waterproof PVC material, which has been
precision machined, to incorporating a matrix rubber sealed
vacuum clamping and integrated pod system. A 15HP or 20HP
Vacuum Pump directly connected to the vacuum table through
rigid abs piping, and automatically controlled by the OSAI CNC
Controller, provides a high level of vacuum in order to secure
the material to be machined, down on to the sacrificial mdf
board.
AIR SERVICE UNIT
•The Air Service Unit is located at the rear of the machine,
and is ready for a direst connection to the customers’ air
system, is provided with a built-in filter, regulator and
lubricator. The air pressure is automatically monitored by the
OSAI CNC Controller, via the integrated safety circuitry,
which automatically stops the machine from processing any
further should air pressure drop below minimum working level,
and then continues with its machining function, once the
correct air pressure has been returned.
AUTOMATIC CENTRALISED LUBRICATION SYSTEM
•All X, Y & Z Axes Linear Bearing Blocks, Guide Ways, Helical
Rack & Pinions incorporating an Automatic Centralized
Lubrication Pump System, providing service free operation.
•There may be some independent grease points not covered by
this centralized system that may require manual lubrication.

AUTOMATIC MATERIAL SHEET LOADING AND UNLOADING
•Automatic Material Sheet Loading System, consisting of a
heavy duty industrial Scissor Lift Table complete with fork
lift access. Automatic height sensor keeps the Scissor Lift
Table at a constant height, with the material being
automatically squared off prior to load, by the Pneumatic
Infeed Double Cylinders Material Loading Mechanism, which pull
the material to be machined on to the systems table-top
working area, and positioned automatically in to the correct
position against the Automatic Pop-Up-Material Registration
Pins, to ensure precise registration each time. A Dust
Extraction Unit is also fitted to the loading area, to ensure
that the material enters the cutting area clean of all dust
and debris.
•Once cutting of the loaded material has been completed the
Pneumatic Material Take-Off Scrapper Arm and Pusher will
automatically remove the cut parts on to the Synchronised
Material Out-feed Belt Conveyor, while the built-in Table-Top
Vacuum Dust Extraction cleans the table top of any dust and
debris, for the next loading of material procedure. There is a
two way valve in the dust collection hood that automatically
isolates the Spindle Dust Collector while cutting and
similarly isolates the In-Take and Out-feed Dust Collection,
in order to ensure full working pressure of the customers'
dust collection system.
•The Synchronised Material Out-feed Belt Conveyor Table is
approximately 4000mm long x the width of the systems working
area, and is fitted with automatic stop/start function through
the use of photocells for the ease of unloading panels. The
system can be also overridden by the operator at any time to
ensure safety requirements are met ! This system drastically
increases the output production of the machine as the operator
can be unloading the out-feed Belt Conveyor, whilst the
machine is in continuous production. A Dust Extraction Unit is
also fitted to the unloading area, to ensure that the material
leaves the cutting area clean of all dust and debris.
SAFETY DEVICE SYSTEM
•Dual Zone Photo Cell Laser Light Curtain Safety System
isolate the operator from directly accessing or approaching
from either operational sides of the working area of the cnc
machine, while machining is in progress.
•Back and side mesh guard fences.
•Emergency Stop Button on the main CNC Control Cabinet.
•Safety Guards, hinged for easy access, are fitted to the
Z-Axis of the machine, in order to protect the operator from
direct contact with the Boring Head, Electro-Spindle &
Automatic Tool Changer.
