What good is print and cut if you have to laminate? Not much, for what many sign companies do most: permanent signs and vehicle graphics. That’s the real difference between thermal resin and every other type of printing. With thermal transfer, images are installation-ready. So you just print, weed and apply.

Like its predecessor, Summa DC3 Plus, the new 54-inch, 8-color Summa DC4 prints images that are guaranteed outdoor-durable for up to 5 years without lamination. And of course, auto ribbon changing and ultra precise contour cutting built right in. But our 4th generation DC-class printer does so much more. It accepts variable width media from 24 to 54 inches wide. And it has a host of new printing modes for higher resolution, faster printing and for printing on specialty films, including banner material.

Best of all, the new Summa DC4 is just as affordable as our older Summa DC3 Plus, including our blazing-fast ColorControl RIP software.

In the world of thermal transfer printing technology, Summa DC4 reigns supreme. In fact, no other thermal transfer printer even comes close.

At 54 inches (137 cm), it’s the world’s widest thermal transfer printer and over four times the width of its nearest competitor. An eight station ribbon-changer eliminates manual ribbon changes, allowing unattended printing of up to 625 square feet (58 m²). Variable width vinyl handling makes it the most versatile printer in its class. Choose from a host of special print-modes, like High Resolution for great-looking photos, or Double Density for back-lit images that are ultra-rich. Plus, built-in cutting means you can produce custom labels and contour cut graphics up to 50.2 inches (127.5 cm) wide on 50 yard (45 meter) media.

Summa DC4 is a complete wide format print-and-cut system. It includes the super-fast ColorControl RIP + Cut software, power take-up rollers, media baskets, 8 universal ribbon cassettes, a full set of CMYK ribbons, and a 54-inch (137 cm) by 50 yard (45 meter) roll of high-performance 3M vinyl. SmartRibbon Cassetts
The built-in ribbon-changer holds up to 8 high-capacity SmartRibbon™ cassettes. Each cassette can accommodate any ribbon color, and the printer intelligently identifies the ribbon color, location and usage



OptiPrint Pre-Cleaning

The OptiPrint™ media pre-cleaning system removes dust and debris that can cause image flaws. It delivers optimal print quality in a unique process that cleans the media immediately before the color pass is printed

 



Media Take-Up System
Our media roll flanges work with the supply and take-up rollers. They attach to any width roll in seconds. Or with shorter print-run, the standard media baskets keep your prints clean and organized.
